In order to enhance students' literary literacy and stimulate their creative enthusiasm, the Du Xiu Literary Society of the west campus held a special literary lecture on ‘Life and Writing’ in the lecture hall on the afternoon of March 31st. The invited guest Jiang Yunyun was the keynote speaker. The lecture attracted nearly 200 students who are passionate about literature to participate enthusiastically.
Initially, the lecture began with a burst of enthusiastic applause. Teacher Jiang Yunyun shared her personal experience of creation, whose enthusiasm quickly ignited the atmosphere of the scene and brought her closer to her classmates, pointing out that writing is not an inaccessible art form but rather something that stems from the accumulation and reflection of life experiences. Subsequently, drawing on her own years of creative experience, Jiang Yunyun imparted to students three key points for enhancing writing skills: Firstly, be meticulous in observation and accumulate materials; Secondly, read extensively to enrich language; Last but not least, write frequently and repeatedly polish the work. Furthermore, Jiang Yunyun encouraged students to cherish life and persist in writing, making writing an extension of life naturally and allowing them to write down their wonderful life experiences through words.
Moreover, after the lecture, students all expressed that they had gained a lot from it, through which they gained a brand-new understanding and comprehension of writing, and were looking forward to applying the learned methods to their actual writing and improving their writing skills.
To summarize, not only did this lecture broaden students' horizons in writing but also aroused their enthusiasm for creation. Therefore, in the future, Du Xiu Literary Society will continue to hold similar activities, providing a broader communication platform for students and contributing to their growth.
